Thin Skin- covers rest of the carcass. Functions of the beat Resistance to Trauma and Infection- come up feigns the most physical injuries to the remains; keratin- tough protein packed in epidermal cells. Other bar Functions- prevents body from losing/ absorbing excess water; blocks UV favorable Vitamin D Synthesis – skin carries; released by sun; vitamin D-bone preparation and maintenance Sensation- warmheartedness endings present for hot, cold, touch, texture, pressure, vibration and tissue injury. Ther muchgulation- thermo sense organs in the dermis send signals to the brain and back to dermis; cold- vasoconstriction; hot- vaso dilatation. accessible Functions- facial expressions; body language; scars; adolescence. Epidermis- Layers (look up order) point Basale- single layer of cubiform to low columned stem cells and keratinocytes resting on the basement membrane. Stratum Spinosum- several layers of keratinocytes; t! hickest; mitosis is limited- more keratin filaments; water retention.
